Social Emotional Learning
Naming feelings, building empathy, and handling relationships with more confidence.
Youth mental health · Newark, New Jersey
Therapy, guidance, and a safe place to land for children and teens ages 5 to 19. We walk with young people and their families through grief, anxiety, and the hard seasons, and help them find their footing again.
About us
Naimah Tucker was raised in Newark and went to school here. At eight years old she told her mother she would one day own clinics across the country that care for the mental health of children. As she grew, that calling sharpened into a focus on the middle school and adolescent years, the stretch of life where so much is decided.
She earned a dual degree in sociology from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Salisbury University, then completed her Master of Social Work at Howard University in 2016. Today she leads The Rose Center and its nonprofit extension, The Rose Center Organization.
Naimah Tucker, LSW
Licensed Social Worker · Intensive In Community Clinician
Naimah has spent more than 10 years supporting children, teens, and families in schools, healthcare, and community settings. She works with emotional and behavioral challenges, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and family concerns.
Her approach is strengths based and client centered. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), play based interventions, and family focused strategies to help young people regulate emotions, build healthy coping skills, and make lasting changes. She is passionate about empowering young people, strengthening families, and creating spaces where children can thrive.
“The TRC team is here to help answer all your questions and to help you navigate through the journey of grief, anxiety, or depression.”
We call the young people we serve our Roses. Every one of them is growing, and every one of them deserves room to do it.

Adopt a Rose
Some of our Roses cannot afford the care they need. Adopting a Rose sponsors a therapy session for a youth in Newark. Every gift goes straight to a young person's healing.
From Teen Zen Den to tutoring room
In April 2025 we turned an empty office into the Teen Zen Den, a calm space for teens to decompress. Today that same room is our tutoring room, run in partnership with REACH Tutoring Center.
REACH works with students from age 12 through adults, rebuilding confidence and strengthening core skills in a small group or one on one setting.
